Jill and I saw Rent last night.  It was a pretty good play.  In the next few months we're going to a few plays.  Going to get a little culture I guess.  Our anniversary is Tuesday the 26th.  Two years of wedded bliss.  We don't have any special plans.

That's all I have for now.  Just kinda testing this to see how well it works as a blog of sorts.

Jill and I had Thanksgiving for my family here yesterday.  It all went damned well.  Jill cooks a great turkey.  Now that the family is gone it's time to redo our basement.  It's always been in bad shape, so now's the time to redo it.  I started moving stuff out today.  We're going to Lake View tomorrow but I'll probably dig back in on Sunday.  I'll post some before and after pictures later on.

We spent all weekend working on the basement.  It turned into a much larger project than I had imagined.  We ended up pulling out all the insulation and reframed the cinderblock walls with 2x4s, replacing the 1x2s.  My dad came down to help.  Craig Weldon lent his hammer, and so did my cousin's husband Tim.  My cousin John came down and watched us work.  He was a big help.  :)  Hopefully next Sunday we'll get around to hanging drywall.  And then the end is near.  I can't wait.

We worked on the basement all last Sunday.  Got most of the drywall put up, except one corner.  Hopefully that will get framed up soon and then we'll be off to mudding.  Yippee!

Jill and I saw The Producers Saturday night at the Civic Center.  Pretty funny.  Of all the live performances we've seen lately, I probably got the most from it.  Easy to follow along, easy to understand.

That's all for now, I thought I'd better put an update up.  Have a Merry Christmas.

Christmas was great.  We spent Friday at my Aunt Sandie's in Sac City and Sunday at Jill's parents in Lake View.  I got all kinds of great stuff, including an iPod from my lovely wife.  Now I suppose I can leave hers alone.  My list of stuff I wanted went over pretty well.  I'm gonna have to find more stuff to put up there.  :D

Tim and John came up on the 26th and we finished the drywall.  I'll soon update the pictures here.  I owe those guys big.

That's all I have for now.  I hope everyone has a good holiday season.

Jill and I played at a Poker Tournament yesterday.  I got 6th place out of 79.  That was high enough to win both of our entrance fees.  They also provided good food, good drink and a lot of good players. A good time was had by all.  Then we went up to Lake View and had supper with Jill's family.  It was a good time too.

I was going over how the basement would look when it was finished and I noticed there is one thing missing.  A huge freakin' TV.  So I did some research and decided on a 50" Samsung DLP.  And of course since I cannot watch TV without TiVo, I picked up an HD TiVo to go with it.  Now I wait patiently until the carpet comes in so that I can hook up all my cool new toys.

Jill and I saw Fiddler on the Roof last night.  It was pretty funny.  We're seeing Movin' Out next month.  I think it's going to be odd listening to other people perform Billy Joel songs, but I'm excited to see it none the less.

The basement is coming along nicely.  The carpet has been ordered and we're waiting for it to come in.  The painting is finished and Dad and I are finishing the wiring tomorrow.  So once the carpet is in, I can hook the TV up.

That's all the updates I have for now.

Jill and I got back yesterday after spending the weekend in Chicago.  We went to see Anthrax in concert at the House of Blues.  It was great.  For those that care it was the original lineup that hasn't played together in about 15 years.  They put on a helluva show.  I loved enjoy minute of it and my neck hurt the requisite amount.  :D

Jill and I have decided it's time to upgrade our house.  We've found another place we like so it's time to sell our house.  For the last couple of weeks we've been busting our butts cleaning, fixing, and decluttering.  Our house officially went on the market Tuesday.  You can see our realtor's page on it here.  If you know of anybody that's looking to buy a townhouse in Ames, send them our way.

We recieved an offer on our house yesterday and hammered out the details today.  We're awaiting final confirmation from the buyers, but it looks like we sold our house.  Woo Hoo!  We also made an offer on the house we were looking at and that was accepted.  This ordeal might have an ending.  :)  Of course we'll be solictiting help for the move.

As things get finalized I'll put updates here.

After a month of traveling to Dallas, Cypress and Las Vegas, Jill and I are home for the foreseeable future.  It'll be nice.  The trees are turning, which is nice.  The new house has lots of trees, so there are plenty of leaves to watch.

After 3.5 years, some pulled muscles, a few bruises and a lot fun, I earned a black belt in HapKiDo.  The test was December third and I was awarded the belt.  So now I am officially a Black (Recommend) in HapKiDo.  In HapKiDo when you first test for a Black belt you get a recommend (which is why it is half red, half black) belt and in a year or so you test again to get the full black belt.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited.  :)

Jill and I have been talking about taking a big vacation for a while.  Last week it finally got to her, she booked us for a cruise.  We leave the day after Thanksgiving for an 8 day cruise in the Southern Carribean.  I'm pretty excited.  It's a Carnival Cruise and we'll be on the boat, Legend.  If you're not busy you should come along!

Jill and I went to Orlando for the weekend to meet some friends.  We spent Friday at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  It was a blast.  Here is a picture of us standing on the main street with the Cinderella castle in the background.

I just got back from a week in California.  Myself and two other guys from work went down.  We upgraded some servers and everything went pretty well.  On Sunday we went down to San Diego to visit a lifelong friend of mine, Jereme.  He showed us all the sites in San Diego.  We had a great time.  Below is a picture of Jer and I enjoying the ocean.

Today is a bittersweet day at the Klindt household.  Today we are trading our old friend George in for a shiny new car.  He's been a trusty steed, and he will be missed.  :(

I just realized I forgot to post a picture of our new car.  Here she is, Pearl.  She's a 2006 Acura MDX.  She's got Navigation as well as a DVD player, for those times Jill can't put up with me anymore and goes to the back to watch moves.  She's a very comfortable ride and has all kinds of cool gadgets to keep me occupied as I drive down the road.

Sorry there haven't been any updates of late.  I'm going to use the excuse that I had chicken pox.  Yes, I waited until I was 33 to partake in that childhood right of passage.  It was every bit as horrible for adults as you've heard.  If you're an adult and haven't had it yet, I would highly recommend getting the vaccination for it.  You'll thank me.

Since I'm no longer contagious our big Superbowl (c) party is underway.  We've been cleaning (okay, Jill has been cleaning) and getting everything ready.  I think today I'll be rooting for the Colts.  They took the Chiefs out of the playoffs, so the better they do, the better excuse I have for them beating the Chiefs.  For those of you that partake in such things, I hope you enjoy the game.  For those of you that don't, I hope you at least enjoy the commercials.
